Background: Lithium salts have been widely known to induce thyroid dysfunction, however, parathyroid dysfunction due to lithium use is uncommonly encountered. Hypercalcemia is a relatively common consequence of lithium therapy presenting with nonspecific symptoms that may be overlooked.
